Examples of posters- royal ballet.

 Quick experiments with screen printing using stencils. The quality of these prints is not that great as printing with stencils, causes the colours to rise and print unevenly , but when I have got a final design together I will be screen printing properly and the quality will be vastly better.
Playing around with shapes and colour, was my main aim when creating these images. I deiced to keep the imagery simple as to allow for the text to be added. Too complicated and image and the text will be lost. However the colours really need to be brighter , luminous and this was brought up in the crit. They do also need to communicate more about ballet, the narrative side rather than the movement. I need to work on this more. I also think working from a narrtive will help more with the image making.

Tried different layouts , but a plainer background with pattern over the top seems to work best, as the text can be overlayed in one colour e.g. white. If there are too many patterns it would be hard to select a colour in which the text can sit.


So from here :

• More of a narrative element. 
• brighter colours.
• Keep it shape based and slightly abstract.
