Using the lino tools in the print room, I found I got a much better quality of line and pattern compared to using my own. I think for the future it would be worth investing in some swiss lino cutters, they are really good.
I wanted to do a two colour lino as I have never done one before and when done well can look aesthetically strong.
This print here was in blue when I printed and the image below in black but these prints could work well for positives and negatives for screen printing.
I had problems when printing with the registration marks as I should have stuck the sheet down with tape so it didn't move about, would have helped with accuracy. And i'm not sure about the colour colour choice ether , I will experiment more on photoshop with this and go back and maybe re print if I have time.
However the overall design is interesting , I was aiming for a panther, it dose have aspects of this however I feel it could be a much stronger representation.
When printed onto fabric the colours did faded a bit and the registration marks where way off , however i think it looks really cool still and I am thinking for at least one of the final prints to be a large lino cut and it would be fun to make and I want to be more ambitious in the execution of my final images as I don't think that I have done that so far in any projects.
