Link to final sting- https://vimeo.com/user61404488
I am really happy with this final outcome. I feel like I have really hit the nail on the head with this one and I am communicating moods/emotions strongly and I feel that it rounds the whole module off really nicely.
Strengths:
- Timing of the appearing and disappearing of the different elements of the sting. The ending in particular I think is strong with timing especially when Martin Luther kings speech mentioned rise and the shoots rise. Also when it disappears right at the very end and the screen is just filled with the type and mono print bird taken from the very beginning of the project, I think that is is impactful.
-The art work. Really like the panther and how the lines with in it cross over when it is moving. The trees in the background as well adds a good depth to the frames and work effectively as a scrolling background. Even though I have used a mixture of print and paper cut it all blends together well and no elements look out of place. Type has been a problem for me in the past but I think I have got it right this time. The font fits with the art work and the general mood of the sting. It is evenly spaced and easy to read, however I'm not sure but I think it dose look slightly off centre.
-Soundtrack- Works with the movements of the panther and the words really help bring emphasis on the movements and imagery being shown. And enhances the overall meaning of what Harper Lee states that 'all men are created equal'.
-Flickering screen- Helps to link all of the imagery together and sets an impression of what time period it is set in.
- Fairly simple movements and the overlapping helps to communicate well. .....
Weaknesses-
-There are a few faint lines in the corners of the screen from the layering of the different textures , I have tried to get rid of them but it sends the rest of the textres off place and it didn't look correct.
- Ending is a bit rushed , feels to end very abruptly, but it is already slightly over the 30 second time limit so it needs to end quickly.
- Gaps in the movements of the panther. Legs could use with filling in , although I like the imperfections of it and the unrealistic aspect, I think it makes the movements more interesting to watch.
-I could have added more smaller details but I'm not sure weather this would have over complicated.
