In making the backgrounds for my images I decided to used plain black paper , because having the whole background textured is too complex. And by having such a simple, plain background it can show the detailed and complex images better.
However I have made the path out of texted paper because I want to to stand out as it is the central part that will lead the viewers eye across the book.
I stuck the paths on to each page manually to make sure they all would aline in the way I ned them to.
By adjusting the levels on Photoshop, I was able to make the background completely dark and the paths textures and white marks stand out more.
From this I built up the image.
