Creating this paper was really fun. I used textured paper which was made by rolling printing ink over black paper. Then I cut into it. I want it to have a slight alien , skull effect because I wanted it to appear slightly human but not quite. Because in the story and in really life the village was cut off from everything and they would have been alienated. I think I have achieved this? although I need to be careful that I don't make them too scary as I want some sympathy from the viewer to be with them. I also when scanning this cut in stuck some masking tape to the back of it to raise it so a shadow was created, I really like this effect as it make the cut less flat on the page and gives it some definition.
