Final print 5

I decided to go a second screen print based again on the article by Owen Jones on the London riots with an approached that focused more on the view of social class and the fact that the riots occurred in the streets.

I decided to go with a stereotype normal associated with the working class and 'chavs' , a tower block. The tower block is placed below a pavement and and with a gutter on the roof. The windows and people themselves  are placed below the level of the gutter, with the pipes/underground. I also decided to incorporate a small narrative into it by zooming in on the windows as too reveal the small people in the windows.

I decided to highlight the tower block and 'from the gutter' sterotype in order for this image make the viewer question the the morals of this and their own views on the subject. I think it dose have a bit more relation to the riots with the street reference but, the first image has more relevance to the text as certain key aspects of the text come into the image.

I also decided to add the red square into it because I thought it was a good relation between the previous image base on solitary confinement. It create an extra narrative between to, almost turning the red square into a symbolic motif. Composition wise as well kept the grid format, it worked really well for this kind of simple narrative.

If I had more time on this image I would have liked to add more frames in so it zooms right out at the beginning into a street scene and at the end you could see inside the peoples houses.
