Responsive 1st ideas meeting for Royal Opera House.

Brief simplified:

The campaign needs to be :

  •  Culturally engaging to people 20-30 , first timers to Ballet. 
  • Campaign could include- advert- poster-muchindise- little animation-bus boards- App.
  • Lyrical Narrative- abstract modernism.
  • Big human themes- life, death, love, loss, passion, joy, anger, human.
Beth and me then started to form ideas based on the points :

    • Poster on side on building, mural. Best had the great idea of creating hash tag that we could get trending around social media.
    • We could do a survey of people and get there opions on Ballet and why they don't go and what would make them go.
    • Team up with a Charity- Make the Campaign have more meaning and a positive impact.
    • Get in touch with a person a teacher for example at Northern Ballet and get there opion.
    • A reason people might not go is due to price. Make an offer with the company for free tickets of you recommend a friend for example.
    • Make going to the Ballet more spontaneous , as a way of advertising take it out of the theatre , make it more accessible. 
    •  An App that could raise awareness of where Ballet is for example fringe events, theatres, opera houses.
    • Charities that relate to this age range.
    • Poster- Big, Bright , Youthful, Modern. Get a poster on the display plinths around Leeds.
    • Set up a campaign in Leeds , selling mechanise , bags e.c.t in the city centre to raise awrness of Ballet and proceeds some go to chosen charity.
    •  Social Media.
    • Snap chat filter. 
  • Potential Issues and solutions:
  • old fashioned- Make modern , fun , bright.
  • Totos - Ditch the toto!
  • Musically dry- Rap, pop, beat box, Poster gig posters.
  • Formal and traditional- Break the rules, Ditch the stereotype e.g. add in people like rugby players.
  • Ballet for elderly and middle class- offer a discount, equivalent to ... compare to other things. 
  • Funny, humours element. 
  • Hard to understand- Interviews with Northen.
  • Ballet is mainly for girls, show its not, tear away from fairy tales. Challenge the cultural and social norms of ballet.
  • increase understanding.
  • Athletic, musical, matalic, slight luxury.
