This is a poster I designed for the Traveling Man Exhibition in September 2017. The theme was ‘ Best of British .’ Taking into consideration where the poster was going to be an the clients that tend to come into the shop I thought it would be best to base the image on a tv show and film. I decide to create a poster for Charlie Brookers ‘Black Mirror’. Black Mirror is a tv series that is made up of episodes that act like mini films, explore a new story every time. The shows mains themes tend to revolve around political and societal issues. It has a times been said to for see certain events within the show that later happen in reality. The show explores technology and the potential future of that, so within the poster there are references to particular episodes , for example the decimal numbers with the arrow is a reference to an episode called ‘Nose Dive’ that focus on the effect of social media. Having no print room, it was challenging to create this image. So, using print textures and cut paper as a base, I then composed and worked into it digitally. The colour scheme I decide to keep to two colours , black to fit with the title of the show and pink in reference to another episode. I also used the loading symbol within the main image and the type I created.
